WELL DONE GOOD AND FAITHFUL SERVANT. R.I.P.

Pilot-Officer Paul W. W. Richardson, reported missing as a result of air operations on August 24, is the eldest son of the Rev and Mrs W. Richardson, of Clunes, which town he left just three years ago. His service included air operations over Kenya and Burma with the RAAF. Flight-Sgt Noel Richardson, second son of Mr and Mrs Richardson, is serving with the RAAF in England.

Rev and Mrs W. W. Richardson, of The Vicarage, Clunes, have been offi-cially notified that their son, Flying Officer Paul W. W. Richardson, RAAF, previously reported missing, was killed in air operations over Burma on August 24. Flying-Officer Rich-ardson and his crew were engaged dropping supplies when their plane encountered a dense bank of cloud and crashed into a hillside. All the crew were killed. Flying-Officer Richardson, who was 26, was educated at Golden Point (Ballarat) School, and later at Ballarat Church of England Grammar School. He had three years' service in the RAAF in England, Middle East, and Burma. Before enlisting he was a member of the staff of Ballarat branch of the State Savings Bank. A brother, Flight-Sgt Noel Richardson, is serving with the RAAF in England.

An Australian radio operator in the same squadron, Pilot-Officer Paul Richardson, was killed with five others aboard when their transport plane was caught in a storm near Ukhrul last month. Tribesmen directed Allied troops to the wreckage, and the bodies were buried by the force for whom the aircraft's cargo was intended.
