The details provided are taken from the book "1000 Men at War" the history of the 2nd/16th Infantry Battalion, published 1959, refer to page 222. Peter was born 30th Dec 1922, and prior to the war he was a farm labourer of Longford Tas. He enlisted into the AIF when in Tasmania hence the TX regimental number. He was later transferred into the 2nd/16th Inf Bn and served there as a private soldier. Unfortunately, he died of injuries sustained in a training accident 11thNov 1944. Rest In Peace.
