Kenneth was born in 1903 the son of Otto Rooney and Margaret Rae. 

He was single and aged 36 when he enlisted in 1940, and was taken prisoner in Singapore in 1942. In 1943 he spent four months working on the Burma Railway only to die of Malaria and Pneumonia in April 1944
