Wing Commander James Patrick Ryan 290621 of Number 52 Operational Base Unit was killed in the loss of RAAF Vultee Vengeance A27-527 near Port Keats, NT 

The other crewman onboard was Flying Officer Keith Beatty Morgan 412019 who survived the incident, he was discharged in November 1945
