Overdose Of Morphine
At an inquest held at Bathurst on Saturday on the late Dr. Arthur Harrison Salter, 42, who died on April 17, the Coroner, Mr. Bromhead, returned a verdict that death was due to the effects of an overdose of morphine self-administiered, but whether taken accidentally or other-wise the evidence did not enable the court to decide. It was stated in evidence that the late Dr. Salter had suffered from insomnia.
The widow, Constance Emily Salter, said that at 7 p.m. on April 16, her husband went to bed and later complained that he was unable to sleep. Her daughter came home at 11.30 and about that time witness heard the deceased snoring. The following morning he was found dead in his bed and Dr. Hams and Dr. Mulvey were called in.
