Mrs P. E. Sanderson, of Boyd's Bay, Tweed Heads, has been officially advised that her late son, Cpl O. K." (Ken) Sanderson, has been mentioned in dispatches as having rendered gallant and distinguished service in the South west Pacific area. Cpl Sanderson, was killed in action in the New Guinea area on December 19, 1942.
