William Edmund SCAMBREY was born in Newcastle in NSW on 10th August, 1906
His parents were William Joseph SCAMBREY & Laura GROVES who married in NSW in 1904
He married Jean HOCKING in Lambton in 1927 (divorced) & 2nd marriage to Hazel May ASPREY in Sydney in 1941 (daughter Wilma)
William died of Illness whilst a prisoner of war in Sandakan, Borneo on 20th March, 1945
