James Avice Reginald SCAMMELL was born in Rockhampton, Queensland on 18th June 1900

His parents were Henry SCAMMELL & Annie BURRY who married in Mount Morgan, Queensland in 1885

He worked as a Clerk and then later was proprietor of a Tobacconist & Hairdressing Salon

He served during WW2 in the Amenities 9 entertainment unit of the Army

James died of Illness in Brisbane Military Hospital in Queensland on 27th February, 1946 and is buried in Lutwyche Cemetery in Brisbane
