Eton Roll of Honour

SCHMIDT.— In loving memory of our dear son and brother, Cleveland Julian Schmidt, Eton, who gave his life in an air raid over Nurnberg. Germany, on March 31, 1944. He sacrificed his life so that we may live, Just one year has now gone past Since that great sorrow fell. Yet In our hearts we mourn the loss Of one we loved so well. The midnight stars are shining Upon a silent grave. There, sleeping without dreaming, Lies the one we could not save.
(Inserted by his loving mother, brothers and sisters.)

SCHMIDT: In loving memory of my dear son, F/Sgt. Cleveland Julian Schmidt, who was killed in action over Germany, March 31, 1943. A painful shock, a blow severe, To part with one ww loved so dear. Our loss is great, we'll not complain, But trust in God to meet again. Rest, dearest son, gently rest, We miss you most who loved you best, Not gone from memory, not gone from love, But gone to our Father's home above.
