Biography

 

George Walter Sherald SCURR was born on 27th September, 1909 in Brisbane, Queensland

His parents were Walter Ernest SCURR and Fanny WHITE

George married Thelma Isabella SILVERS in 1937 in Queensland

He enlisted on 14th May, 1942 with the Australian Army - his posting on death was a Private with the 31 Works Company (Royal Australian Engineers)

He died of illness in Greenslopes Military Hospital and is buried in Lutwyche Cemetery, Brisbane - he is also commemorated on the Australian War memorial and the Roll of Honour in Brisbane
