He was 31 and the son of Harry Roy Gerrard Sellars and Violet Gwendoline Sellars; husband of Mollie Victoria Sellars, of Brighton, Victoria, Australia. The inscription chosen for his war grave is:

Buried in the adjacent grave is Flight Sergeant Ernest Henry Benjamin Saker who was killed in the same incident.
