Peter Gilbert Dwight  was born in London on 27th March, 1909 under the surname SAPOUNTZAKIS

His parents were Archilles SAPOUNTZAKIS & Elsie May SINCLAIR who married in Fulham, London in 1908

Elsie married Philip SHEPPARD in England in 1917 -  so Peter took on his stepfathers surname but he was listed as James on the Commonwealth War Graves record

He arrived in Sydney in 1925 on the ship Osterley aged 16 years

He married Jessie MILLIGAN in Casino, NSW in 1933 - 3 known children - John Anthony, Anne Lucille & Marcia Gay

Peter was discharged on 13th October, 1944 due to being medically unfit for further service and died on 4th October, 1945 & is buried in the Casino Cemetery in NSW
