Sherry/Cooper Family Story
Brian George Sherry was the son of Vivian Sherry and Ellen Cooper.
He was born 22nd August 1922 in Brisbane, Queensland.
Brian was the second born child having an older sister Helen Viva Sherry.
His mother came from the well known Cooper farming family from Warwick in Queensland. She was interested in music particularly opera and classical and taught sewing at Y.M.C.A.
Brian worked in Brisbane City Council Office prior to joining the R.A.A.F. during the War.
He trained in Canada, then was stationed in England as a Boston Bomber Pilot. He did not return from a raid on the railway yards at Bologna, Italy.
Brian was a good horseman, who spent many holidays with his Uncle Ned on his farm at Bony Mountain in Warwick. He had a great personality and a good singing voice. His early death left a void in the lives of his family and his cousins of his age group.
This story was written by Maureen Mellon in the Cooper Family History Book - 1990.
