Biography contributed by Paul Trevor

From searching the historical death records of Queensland's Births, Deaths and Marriages, I confirmed that 7308/QX3334 Private Albert Stacey was actually born on 19 September 1897, not on the 19 September 1909 that he declared when enlisting for service during the Second World War. Private A. Stacey lowered his age by 12 years to guarantee enlistment in June 1940.

'A Soldier Welcomed.

Yesterday morning Messrs Maynard and Leask met and welcomed home Private A. Stacey of the 5th Engineers, Pine Creek.' from The Bundaberg Mail 15 Jul 1919 (nla.gov.au)

'SERIOUS FLOODS, 2 DROWNED.

Early yesterday afternoon word was received at Gin Gin from Banya, 30 miles out, that Arthur [Alfred] Stacey, 50, a veteran of two wars, had been trapped by flood waters when moving stock to higher ground, and had been washed away. Police from Gin Gin have gone out to search for him.' from Truth 2 Mar 1947 (nla.gov.au)
