John James Urquhart
My grandfather John James Urquhart served with Sargent Robert Elliot Batton in the ww1 in 22nd Battalion . I recall my grandfather talking about “Bobby Baton’s bravery and I know that these 2 veterans of WW1 had a strong friendship during and after the war.
Robert Elliot Batton’s bravery is detailed in the 22nd Battalion book by Eugene Gorman’s book “with the twenty second”.
I have seen the surname Batton written as: Baton.
This needs checking.
Bobbie Batton had the decorations, military medal and bar, and distinctive conduct medal awarded to him.
I have attached the photograph of Bobbie Baton from the family Robinson / Urquhart Family collection.
