Son of William Henry Nicol and Emily Eva Katie Steed nee Cutts; husband of Audrey Jean Steed, of Albert Park, South Australia.

HE DIED THAT WE MIGHT LIVE EVER REMEMBERED

Vernon married Audrey on 30th January 1937.

Two brothers also serced in WW2 - Sargeant Cedric Nichols Steed S74823, 8 Battalion Volunteer Defence Corps, and  Warrant Officer Ivor Philip Steed SX15920

1943 - Mrs. V. T. Steed, of Glyde street, Albert Park, has been informed that her husband, Pte. Vernon T. Steed, previously reported missing, is now reported prisoner of war interned in Thailand.

Cause of death, Tropical Ulcer.

Survived by his wife Audrey, two daughters Anne and Pamela,parents, twin sister Meredyth Bolt, Gwenth and brothers Cedric and Ivor
