SNAKES
Death Follows
Neglected Bite
From Our Special Correspondent.
LISMORE, Saturday.
"Neglect of snakebite played a big part in the death of LAC Ivan Stewart," said the district Coroner, Mr. A. J. Bryant. today at the inquest into the death of this RAAF trainee. Stewart waited an hour after he had been bitten by a snake, believed to be a death adder, before he reported to the medical officer. The camp medical officer, Flight-Lieut. Gordon Roberts, said snakes were most prevalent in the locality, and men had been instructed in treatment of snakebite. Necessary equipment for treatment had also been placed in convenient
places.
