Walter Herbert Stewart was born in Nerang Qld on 02 October 1918. Son of Walter Herbert and Henrietta Stewart, of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.

Walter served with the Royal Australian Engineers - A.I.F. 2/7 Field Coy. He enlisted in the Army in Toowoomba Qld on 27 June 1940.

On 23 May 1941 he marched into the staging camp in Egypt.

He was Killed In Action in Egypt on 09 June 1941 Age 22.

Walter was much loved by his family. He was considered by his father "a good son".
