Son of Bertie George and Mary Tanner of Katanning, WA
A witness to his death states that on the 8 December 1942, during the Battle of Gona Beach he had charged an enemy machine gun nest and was killed instantly by a burst from the machine gun
He was a very brave soldier and we all considered that no praise is too high for him
