Son of James Rodger and Robina Taylor of Quirindi NSW
Plane was Spitfire 1V BC 423 lost near Algeria where it had blown up and burnt on impact. At the time it was one a designated high level photographic reconnaisance mission
Investigators deemed it impossible to recover the wreckage as it was a six hour ride by mule to the nearest good road and two hours mule ride from the nearest cart track.
Also served with the Militia in the 33rd Machine Gun Battalion with the rank of Corporal
At school he studied to Intermediate level in the subjects of:- English, Geography, Maths 11, Maths 1, History, Elementary Science and Woodwork but failed Latin
Sports played were Tennis, Football, Cricket and Swimming
