Son of Charles and Elsa Thompson of Alexandria, NSW
Plane was a Hampden 1, P1244 which was on air operations to Kassel, Germany but crashed after being hit by anti-aircraft fire near the village of Tetha. The plane exploded on impact killing all four crew members
