Mr and Mrs H. W. Thurling, of Rowan st, Wangaratta, have re-ceived word that their son. Flight Sgt Leslie Glenister Thurling, had been killed as the result of an air-craft accident in the Middle East on September 5. Born at Benalla, Flight-Sgt Thurling was aged 29. He enlisted in 1942 and went to Canada 12 months ago, to England four months ago, and to the Middle East two months ago. Educated at Wangaratta High School, he afterward joined the flrm of Templeton and Co, Flinders lane. A brother, Lance Cpl Bill Thurling, is a prisoner of war in Germany, and another brother, Driver Roy Thurling, is in the north with the AIF. Flight-Sgt Thurling has left a widow and son.
