The details provided are taken from the book "1000 Men at War" the history of the 2nd/16th Infantry Battalion, published 1959, refer to page 217. Arthur was born 11th June 1922, and prior to the war he was a factory worker of Grafton NSW. He enlisted into the AIF in NSW hence the NX regimental number, and it was mentioned that he had served in the 16th Motor Regiment. the 16th M.R. would have been cancelled and the troops involved transferred into other Units, Arthur becoming a member of ther 2nd/16th Inf Bn where he served as a private soldier. Unfortunately, he Died of an Illness 28th Oct 1943. Rest In Peace. Lest We Forget.
