The details provided are taken from the book "1000 Men at War" the history of the 2nd/16th Infantry Battalion, published 1959, refer to page 242. John was born 3rd Jan 1923 and prior to the war he was a clerk of Randwick NSW. He enlisted in NSW hence the NX regimental number, and later transferred into the 2nd/16th Inf Bn where he served as a private soldier. Unfortunately, he developed and Illness and died of that condition 10th Dec 1945. Rest In Peace. Lest We Forget.
