Son of Gustav Adolf and Jessie Millar VIERITZ, of Darra, Queensland, Australia.
Flight Sergeant C. A. Vieritz, who was previously reported missing in air operations, is now presumed to have lost his life. He was a son of the late Corporal G. A. Vieritz, and of Mrs Vieritz, of Darra.

Lancaster NF965 of Number 622 Squadron RAF was hit by flak and collided in the air with LM512 of Number 625 Squadron RAF with both aircraft crashing near the village of Stattmatten in France - target: Frankfurt, Germany
