Son of Stanley and Anne Pearl Walker of Mount Martha, Victoria
RAAF Oxford training aircraft BM712 from Number 1 Service Flying Training School Point Cook was operating out of the Little River Satellite Aerodrome when it crashed in the You Yang Ranges, Victoria - all crew were killed:

AOl John Stanley Walker, of Ballarat, who was killed in an aircraft accident on Saturday, was the only son of Capt and Mrs Stanley Walker, of Wendouree pale. He was educated at Ballarat College, and was on the staff of the Commonwealth Bank.
WALKER.-On January 23 (result of air accident), L.A.C. John Stanley Walker, dearly loved only son of Captain and Mrs. Stan Walker, Wendouree parade, Ballarat, and brother of Lynette, also only grandson of Mrs. J. T. Walker, and nephew of Lizzie, aged 19 years.
He upheld the tradition.
