Flight Lieutenant Charles Oswald Duffy 251682 (1682) from Number 3 Stores Depot (3SD - Brisbane) and Pilot Officer Cyril James Ward 405702 of RAAF Headquarters Port Moresby went missing in Moresby Bay, New Guinea while on a recreational boating trip

Their bodies were not recovered and they were declared as Missing, Presumed Dead - their loss is commemorated on the Port Moresby Memorial
