Biography contributed by Faithe Jones

Son of Richard TUDOR and Sarah Jane nee PAYNE of Charra, West Coast, SA

Mr. and Mrs. R. Tudor, of Charra, have been advised that their son, Pte. Stanley Richard Tudor, was killed in action in France on April 5, at the age of 20 years.  Pte. Tudor enlisted when he was 18 years of age, and went into camp in June, 1916.  He left for England in August, 1916, and went to France in December of the same year.  He was at the front for about four months, when he received a wound in the right arm, and was sent to hospital in England.  Pte. Tudor returned to France in July 1917, and was wounded for the second occasion on August 26.  He returned once more on January 10, 1918, where he remained until his death.  Both Pte. Tudor's elder brothers tried to enlist, but failed to pass the medical examination.
