Plane was Beaufighter KW202 which crashed off Filfola while doing a night flying test and post-inspection test which included firing guns. Having completed the flying test he was order to test the guns. The plane commenced a shallow dive about 5 miles from Filfola. During the dive he fired about 4 bursts from the guns. When it was very close to the water the plane was seen to do a climbing turn but the wing tip appear to hit the water and aftrer about 30 yards the plane was seen to crash. No survivors were found
