Robert Leslie White was an Aboriginal Soldier who born in Chinchilla on 6th November 1919. He is the son of Nellie Fuller aka Mary Ellen White, a laundress and the grandson of Jessie Fuller who both was born near Auburn Station in Wulli Wulli Country of North Burnett region of Queensland. 

His father was Leslie Joseph O'Brien, a railway worker in Chinchilla. He took the last name White when his mother married Walter Charles White in 1931. 

The 2/15th participated in the 9th Division's diversionary attack south of Tel-el-Eisa, codenamed Operation Bulimba, which was planned as a response to German offensive actions further south during the lead-up to the final assault in late October and early November 1942. 

Robert was wounded in action on 30th November GSW abdomen and died the following day. 

He is buried in Grave No.7 Plot 1. Row C of Abyar Al Shammama Map Ref 43272902.
