Lieutenant Wilson was 45 and the son of John Alexander and Anna Rosina Wilson; husband of Annie Jean Gibson Wilson. of Altona.

He died whilst serving with the A.C.M.F. 4 Army Troops Company-Royal Australian Engineers

He was awarded the Military Medal.
