Sergeant Stanley Ernest Woodcroft 22630 and Sergeant Robert Alfred Blackman 402844 were killed when Wirraway A20-319 was shot down into the sea by Japanese Zero aircraft near Rabaul, New Guinea - they are commemorated on the Rabaul Memorial as their bodies were not recovered.
