DEATH OF BUGLER ANDERSON.
Our Melbourne representative, telegraphs that in the House of Representatives on Thursday Sir William Lyne stated, in reply to Mr. Wilkinson, M.H.R., that Bugler John Anderson, of Silkstone, Ipswich, Queensland, died on the 9th of June on heard the transport steamer Custodiat from fish-poisoning. No inquiry was made, the medical certificate bcing considered sufficient. There was no record of similar cases, and steps could not be taken to punish persons who had supplied this unwholesome food, but representations were being made to the Imperial authorities, to whom sauel authority belonged. The news of Anderson's death wan received on the lst of July, and was immediately communicated to his parents, as is usual in such cases. The effects of the deceased were sold by auction on board the transport, and the proceeds had been remitted to has father.
