His parents were Isaac BEWLEY & Sarah Ann HOWELL who married on 6th July, 1871 in Wingen, Scone, NSW

He died on 1st February, 1902 and his name is memorialised on the Bayswater Garden of Remembrance in South Africa and the Australian War Memorial
