Louis and William Bond were twins. They were both born in Balmattum in Victoria in 1975. They both enlisted in 5VMR on the same day, 1st Feb 1901. Hence, they both have secquential service numbers. They were the sons of William and Lydia Bond (nee Willis). They had nine siblings. Louis was a horsebreaker while William was a farmer. [1560] PTE BOND, Louis. F Co. 5VMR was KIA. [1561] PTE BOND, William. F Co. 5VMR was invalided home. William survived his service but his twin brother Louis died. Lest We Forget.
