Add my storyBiography contributed by Maurice Kissane
Thomas was born in New South Wales in 1881. He is the son of Arthur and Emily Lenon (nee Hunt). His birth name was Thomas Bunbury Lenon. However, he enlisted as Thomas B. Lennon.
It is likely that he had previous military training to be in the first contingent.
His father was born in England in 1842. Hence, the family had strong ties with what was called "home". Thomas would have seen it as his duty to fight for Queen and Empire.
He embarked on 17 January 1900 but was detined never see his family again. For his war was ended by Enteric Fever. He died in Bloemfontein. Thomas was buried there. The cemetery records record his burial date as 30 April 1900. He rests in grave No 193.
Lest We Forget.
