The following deaths are reported:—Private Herbert Tuber, of the South Australian Section of the Seventh Australian Contingent, from rheumatism and endocarditis, at Durban.

A couple of days ago a cable was published in the press to the effect that Private Tuber had died on active service. The Staff Office authorities state that the Chris- tian name and regimental number show that the deceased soldier was Herbert Taeuber, of the Eighth, Battalion Australian Commonwealth Horse. He was a member of the local half battalion, which was under the command of Lieutenant Colonel LeMessurier was single, and came from Tailem Bend. The deceased was a nephew of Mr. Oscar Taeuber, the well-known vocalist.

TAILEM BEND.

July 3.—Much regret was felt when it   became known that Trooper Herbert Taeuber, second son of Mr. H. O. Taeuber, of Tailem Bend, who left with the last contingent for South Africa, had succumbed at Durban on June 23 to a severe cold, contracted on the voyage. The deceased was an active member of the Church of England, and was highly respected.
