Burke Westwood THOMPSON was born at Mount Enid, Hughenden, Queensland in 1864

His parents were James THOMPSON & Maria nee KELLY

Thompson was the first white male child born in the district of Burke, North Queenslan, in which part his father was one of the early pioneers.

He took ill on his way home to Australia on the ship Drayton Grange and died from pneumonia in Melbourne Hospital on 8th August, 1902 a few hours after bening transferred from teh troopship Drayton Grange.
