William Frederick YOUNG was born in Round Hill, New South Wales which is now part of the A.C.T.

His parents were William YOUNG & Bridget GRADY who married in NSW in 1871 (registered in Queanbeyan)

He served in the Boer War in the 1st NSW Mounted Rifles

William died on 4th October, 1900 in St Vincents Hospital in Sydney and is buried in St John the Baptist Church of England Cemetery in Reid, A.C.T.

He was posthumously awarded the Queens South Africa Medal with 2 clasps
