John Douglas COLLISTER was born in 1862 in St George, Douglas, Isle of Man

His parents were Robert COLLISTER & Janetta CORLETT

John arrived in Australia in 1881 on the ship Chimborazo aged 19 years

He had previous service with the Volunteer Artillery Force before he embarked from Sydney on the SS Iberia on 3rd March, 1885 with the NSW Contingent to serve in the Sudan (D Company)

He died in Colombo, Ceylond on 10th June 1885 of typhoid
