Lance Corporal Stanley Aldcock (Service No:Q106877) enlisted in the ACMF on 20 January 1942 and served with 12 Battalion VDC until Discharge on 3 March 1944. Lance Corporal Aldcock had served more than sixteen years with the Reserves - enlisting as a Private and progressing to Lieutenant attached to 4th and 5th Light Horse Regiments.

Born in 1898 in Gympie QLD, Stan was the second of five children of George Aldcock (b1860 in Norfolk, England) and Emily Jane Lorensen (nee Fittell; b1866 in Kent, England). Emily immigrated in 1876, arriving in Brisbane, QLD on board the Gauntlet and George - an Agricultural Labourer - arrived in Maryborough, QLD in 1888 on board the Eastminster. George and Emily married in 1893 in Gympie, QLD and settled at Eel Creek, Kilkivan where they raised their family and George was a Farmer.

Stan worked as a Fruit Grower and Dairyman at Eel Creek and in 1932 in Maryborough, QLD he married Ethel Lillian Grace Cook (b1908 in Maryborough, QLD). Stan and Ethel settled at Eel Creek where they raised their family and Stan was a Farmer. Stan died in 1974 and Ethel in 1988.
