Private Roy Albury (Service No:Q16366) first enlisted in the Militia on 9 August 1940 and served with 9/49 Battalion before enlisting in the ACMF on 18 August 1941. Private Albury was attached to 14 Garrison Battalion, 1 Garrison Battalion and 32 Garrison Battalion and was Discharged on 7 February 1944.

Born in 1896 in Brisbane QLD, Roy was the eighth of 11 children of George Henry Albury (b1858 in Bedfordshire, England) and Susan Potter (b1862 in Bedfordshire, England). George (an Agricultural Labourer) and Susan married in 1879 in Bedfordshire, England and immigrated in 1886, arriving in Brisbane QLD on board the Quetta. They settled in Brisbane where they raised their family and George was a Labourer.

Roy worked as a Carter and Labourer in Brisbane, where in 1925 he married Maud Alexanda Osmond (b1902 in Surrey, England) - Maud worked as a Pantrymaid in Brisbane and had immigrated in 1917, arriving in Brisbane on board the Osterley. Roy and Maud settled in Brisbane where Roy worked as a Labourer and Gardener. Roy died in 1973.
