Family story
John was born on the 26th June, 1914, the 3rd child of Harry Andersen & Polly Dibben in Proserpine. He attended the Proserpine State & Convent Schools before leaving at the age of 13 years to work timber cutting with his father.
John later cut cane with his father at Ted Jorgensen’s farm before purchasing his own cane property at Breadalbane. He won awards for bike riding & snooker playing.
John married Lurlene Grace Lacey on 26th September, 1942, in Ingham. They sadly lost their only child, Robyn, just 3 days old, in 1944.
He sold his property in 1970 to Mr Alf Maloney, & moved to Wynnum, Brisbane, where they both retired.
