Private Peter Robert Anderson (Service No:Q25464) enlisted in the ACMF on 19 August 1940 and served with 47th Infantry Battalion and 55/53 (amalgamated) Infantry Battalion in New Guinea (1943/1944) and Bougainville (1944/1946). Private Anderson was Discharged on 21 May 1946.

Born in Gympie QLD in 1920, Peter was the eldest son of Peter Robinson Anderson (b1887 in Perthshire, Scotland) and Elizabeth Ann Hebbard (nee Barlow; b1882 in Bundaberg, QLD). Peter Snr (a Farmer) and Elizabeth married in 1920 in Gympie QLD and lived in Murgon and Gympie where they raised their family and Peter was a Labourer.

Peter was working as a Motor Mechanic in Gympie before his enlistment in the ACMF and in 1946 married Isabel Jean O'Sullivan (b1925 in Gympie, QLD). Peter and Isabel lived in Gympie QLD until the mid 1950s when they moved to Brisbane - Peter worked as a Motor Mechanic. Peter died in 1990 and Isabel in 2000.
