ichard Herbert Robinson enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force on 7 February 1916 at age 40 years and 5 months, joining the 10th Australian Field Ambulance. He had previously served five years in the Perth Australian Army Medical Corps. While in Australia, he was promoted to Corporal on 1 April 1916 and Provost Sergeant on 24 May 1916. Upon arrival in France, he reverted to Private to serve on the front lines and was deployed to Bonnay. He died of wounds received in action on 1 April 1918 while protecting an injured soldier from shrapnel while stretcher bearing.
