Albert was the eldest of four children of Albert Edward Armstrong (b1883 in Townsville, QLD) and Margaret Jessie Marshall (b1888 in Boulia, QLD). Albert Snr (a Labourer) and Margaret married in 1909 in Townsville where they settled and raised their family. Following Albert Snrs death in 1921 Margaret remarried.
Albert was a Tally Clerk in 1937 when he married Margaret Dulcie Jones (b1912 in Chareters Towers, QLD) in Townsville where they lived until Albert enlisted in the ACMF in April 1942. Margaret moved to Brisbane whilst Albert served as a Sergeant (Service No:Q132189) and was attached to Camp Staff Grovely when he was Discharged in February 1945.
Albert and Margaret returned to Townsville where Albert worked as a Salesman. Margaret died in 1954 and Albert moved to Bowen QLD where he was a Manager before relocating to Brisbane in 1963. Albert worked as a Salesman in Brisbane until his death in 1966.
