Roy Charles Atkinson
The death of Roy Charles Atkinson occurred at the Proserpine River on Wednesday of last week. The late Mr Atkinson, who was 76 years of age apparently had gone swimming by himself, in a swimming hole in the river vicinity of Spruces Crossing. His body was found in the pool about 4.45pm.
At first it was thought he had drowned but a post mortem. Held at the Proserpine Hospital, revealed he had died from a heart attack.
The late Mr Atkinson had belonged to a family which has resided for generations in the Foxdale area. His funeral took place on Monday, with a graveside service held at 10am.
