Lieutenant Bertie John Simpson, late 39th Battalion, A.I.F., third son of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Simpson, "Rosemont," Beatrice-avenue, Surrey Hills, was married to Miss Doris Mary McArthur, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James McArthur, "Wendouree," Albert-road, Albert Park, at St. Patrick's Cathedral, on Wednesday, August 20. The Rev. Father Donovan officiated at the ceremony. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a smart cream costume and hat to match, and she carried a bridal bouquet of white flowers. Miss Norah McArthur was the bridesmaid. She wore with a cream gabardine costume a black satin hat, and carried a pink bouquet. Sergeant W. Simpson, late of A.I.F., was best man. Wedding breakfast was held at Sargent's, the table being nicely decorated with the bridegroom's colors. The honeymoon is being spent at Healesville. The bride travelled in a mole costume with at to match. Lieut, and Mrs. Simpson will take up their residence at Churchill-street, East Kew.
