Signaller Aubrey George Bartlett (Service Nos:121648/418134) served in the Militia on two occasions with Signals (QLD) Corps (9 April 1930 - 9 December 1930 and 3 February 1939 - 7 November 1939).

Aub was born in Brisbane QLD in 1911, only child of George Spry Bartlett (b1889 in Brisbane, QLD) and Agnes (Allie) Augusta Bowling (b1886 in Brisbane, QLD). George and Allie married in 1911 in Brisbane - George worked as a Clerk, Plumber and Engineer in Brisbane and Charleville, and served in the Armed Forces (1909 as Lieutenant with Commonwealth Military Cadet Corps; 1915/1916 in the AIF; 1918 as a Corporal in the Royal Naval Brigade Guard Section; in the Militia and in the ACMF. In the 1920s George and Allie lived at the Mt Hutton Settlement via Injune, where George was a Soldier Settler, and at Merivale River via Mitchell where he was a Plumber. Returning to Brisbane, George joined the family firm - QR Bartlett Manufacturers, incorporating Bartlett's Street Maps and Transport Directories - as an Engineer, Accountant and Company Director.

Aub started work in Brisbane as a Draftsman and Apprentice Engineer. In 1938 in Brisbane he married Olivine (Pat) Myrtle Murchie (b1912 in Brisbane, QLD) - Pat was a Commercial Artist in Brisbane. Aub and Pat settled in Brisbane, where they raised their family and Aub worked as a Carpenter, Builder and Building Contractor until retirement. Pat died in 1993 and Aub in 2000.
