Mick was the second of three children of William Henry Bentley (b1889 in Gympie, QLD) and Gwendoline Annie Morgan (b1894 in Gympie QLD). William (a Miner) and Gwedoline married in 1913 in Gympie QLD where they settled until 1920. William worked as a Labourer in Brisbane until his Death in 1938. Gwnedoline remarried in 1939.
Mick was a Railway Porter in Brisbane when he enlisted with the ACMF in June 1942 (Private; Service No:151163). In October 1942 he enlisted with the AIF (Lance Corporal; Service No:QX41492) and served in Borneo (10 March 1945 - 23 January 1946). He was attached to 14 Works Coy when he was Discharged in May 1946. Brother Lesley (Corporal; Service Nos:QX42004/Q14357) also served in WWII.
Mick returned to Brisbane, where he was a Railways Employee in 1950 when he married Doris Maureen. They settled in Mt Gravatt in Brisbane where Mick worked as an Engineer. Mick died in 1998.
